AAHPERD was a great success!

It has been a few days since AAHPERD 2013 wrapped up in Charlotte, NC, and we are still feeling the good vibes from attending the conference!

Both current and aspiring PE teachers from all over the U.S. and outside the country stopped by our booth to hear what Ask, Listen, Learn is all about. Many were really excited to try out our interactive game!

Geared toward 5th through 7th graders, the game combines physical activity with information about how to say “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to underage drinking.

PE teachers found the game engaging, saw its educational value and potential, and were eager to learn more about our efforts to prevent underage drinking and to promote a healthy, active lifestyle among children and youth.

Furthermore, the Ask Listen Learn: Kids and Alcohol Don’t Mix program features several superstars, such as Two-Time Gold Medalist Aly Raisman, who serve as inspiring role models for kids and encourage them to say Yes to a healthy lifestyle and no to underage drinking!

We were encouraged by all the enthusiasm and look forward to developing new partnerships with these educators!

Resources for teachers, parents, and the students themselves are available on the Ask, Listen, Learnwebsite.  Event news and updates are available on Twitter. Stay tuned to the Ask, Listen, Learn blog for news on the NASPE contest winners on May 7!
