Communities win big with Together Counts

At The Century Council, we are always excited when our friends encourage kids to live a healthy lifestyle. We’re halfway through the year and the Ask, Listen, Learn: Kids And Alcohol Don’t Mix program has had a busy schedule that culminated in the “Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day” event at Capitol Hill during Alcohol Awareness Month. We are also glad to highlight the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation‘s latest update regarding the Together Counts,™ initiative below.

Healthy Playgrounds. Happy Kids. Communities Win Big with Together Counts™ Annual Grant Program

The summer of 2013 is going to be extra special for thousands of children who know when they return to elementary school next fall, they’ll have new ways to play and be active.

As a member of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, we’ve helped get the word out to schools and families about Together Counts,™ a far-reaching anti-obesity initiative bolstered by our supportand yours. We’re thrilled that our efforts will directly impact 7,000 students through this year’s grant program, aimed at communities who need it most, with more than $175,000 in playground equipment, sports gear and cash.
