Classroom Champion Kurt Felix visited schools around Grenada!

Ask, Listen, Learn has been around for over a decade. The program has touched the lives of over 21 million parents, teachers and students in the US, and we’ve gone global.

We’ve spent the past few years going to countries around the Caribbean and helping students realize the consequences of underage drinking. By talking to kids about the positive impact of eating right, exercising and surrounding themselves with friends who encourage smart decision-making, we’ve found that kids are more likely to say NO to underage drinking. That’s why we partner with Classroom Champions, a non-profit that pairs classrooms with Olympians or Paralympians who talk to students all year-round about the importance of saying YES to a healthy lifestyle and NO to underage drinking.

Our work globally has centered around the Caribbean, including Grenada. As the school year wrapped, our Classroom Champions Athlete Mentor for Grenada Kurt Felix had the opportunity to make a live, in-person visit to schools around the island! The kids were excited to meet the athlete who spent the year with them, giving them the advice, tools and confidence to make smart, healthy decisions.

He was greeted by the Ministry of Education officials, local media and hundreds of eager students, ready to meet their mentor. Felix was a part of multiple assemblies at the schools and with administration at the Ministry of Education. He handed out certificates of completion for the ALL program, enjoyed artwork and performances from the students, and sent along some inspiring words about his important choice to say NO to underage drinking.

Check out the great photos from the event, and videos of the welcome ceremony!

Thanks for being such a great a great role model, Kurt!
