A new sports-themed brand for children ages three to eight years old. The Small Sports® cast of five lovable characters guide children through the principles of teamwork and good sportsmanship. With big hearts and even bigger imaginations, The Small Sports go on many exciting storybook adventures while reinforcing the strong lessons that can be learned through sports.
Author Matthew Damman created The Small Sports when he saw a void in what was currently being offered to children. “With everything kids are being exposed to today, I wondered where the sports-themed characters were,” said Matthew, a father of two. “We wanted to create a wholesome but entertaining brand that would inspire children to be good sports and to use their imaginations outside.”
The adventures unfold and the team meets in The Small Sports first storybook, Take the Field. The book resonates with both parents and children through the classically illustrated pages that complement the engaging story line. “Sports have so many life lessons to offer younger children,” added Matthew. “That’s why I feel so strongly about getting the Small Sports’ message across.”
The Small Sports second book, Go for the Goal, was released Fall 2014 and is a story about sportsmanship and overcoming failure to find the positive lessons sports have to offer. Both books are available for purchase on Amazon.com and on www.thesmallsports.com.
We hope you’ll take a moment to meet the team and remember to #BeAGoodSport!
