A Superstar-Filled Day on Capitol Hill!

US Champions Lauren Holiday and Ashley Wagner, 94.7 Fresh FM DJs Tommy McFly, Jen Richer, and Kelly Collis, and Abe, Bill, and George from the Washington Nationals Racing Presidents joined us on Capitol Hill to celebrate our ninth annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event and Alcohol Responsibility Month!

Parents who brought their kids to work, Hill staff, local educators, and students from DC SCORES came together to learn how to have conversations about the dangers of underage drinking. They played foosball, basketball toss, table soccer, and the Ask, Listen, Learn: Kids and Alcohol Don’t Mix interactive game.

Attendees, kids especially, were inspired by our Superstars Lauren and Ashley to pursue their dreams no matter what. Lauren, who retired from soccer after winning the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the second time in 2015, and Ashley, who recently won a silver medal at the 2016 World Figure Skating Championships, talked to kids one-on-one about how their decisions not to drink alcohol underage shaped their futures.

The Washington Nationals Racing Presidents, always a crowd favorite, took pictures with attendees and got everyone moving, and handed out prizes to the winners of our raffle.
