Thanksgiving Family Time

Thanksgiving revolves around food. And lots of it.

Still, it’s important to remember that for some of us, this is precious time to spend with our family and close friends. Maybe you travel, or have friends and relatives in town, or maybe you have kids back from college for the week. Why not take a break from piles of stuffing and pumpkin pie and get out of the house for some quality family time and exercise?

First off, you could start the morning right by running a turkey trot in your area. Most races are only 5K, and some start as early as 6am, so you could have your workout out of the way before it’s time to start cooking!

Another option for fitness could be to go on a family hike. Get away from the distractions of TV and phones and breathe in the serenity of Mother Nature’s crisp autumn leaves. We found a cool website that can map out hiking trails of all difficulty levels across the country here!

If neither of these work, we suggest you at least go out in the yard and throw the football around for a bit before the pie’s done baking. Always great family fun!
