Know the Facts and Support National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week
March 20, 2023
This week is National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, and it’s the perfect time to have a conversation with kids to prevent underage drinking and underage cannabis use. Ask, Listen, Learn resources are ideal for starting and continuing conversations about alcohol and the negative effects of underage drinking and cannabis on their developing brains. The great news is that with your help, today’s kids are making good decisions, as demonstrated by the decline in underage drinking rates over the past decade.
Take a look at the progress we have made together and share it with your community. Remember to tag #NDAFW to show your support in keeping our youth substance free.
Families and educators, keep up the great work, and thank you for all you do to keep kids substance-free! You’re making a HUGE impact empowering kids to say “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to underage drinking and underage cannabis use.
Get ready because April marks Alcohol Responsibility Month and the 20th anniversary of Ask, Listen Learn! Throughout the month and coming year we will continue to share our materials and resources To help kids say YES to a healthy lifestyle and NO to underage drinking -The Ask, Listen, Learn Team
For more than a decade the National Institute on Drug Abuse’s National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week educational campaign has been working with State-based partners and like-minded organizations to share NIDA’s science-based resources in hopes they find them useful and engaging.
