Over the last 20 years, more kids are saying “NO” than ever before—with more than 6 out of 10 kids having never consumed alcohol. That’s a record low!
The leading influence on their kids about alcohol & cannabis
92% of parents have spoken with their child(ren) about the dangers of drinking alcohol in the past year, and 92% of kids report speaking with their parents or another adult.
58% of parents include cannabis in their conversations about underage drinking, and 67% include peer pressure.
41% of kids believe they will be faced with a decision regarding drinking or not drinking alcohol within the next year, and 52% of parents believe their child(ren) will be faced with this decision.
83% of parents are concerned about stress and anxiety with respect to their child(ren)’s health and well-being and 77% are concerned about their mental health.

The statistics don’t lie—underage drinking is down and the majority of kids don’t drink. The 2023 Monitoring the Future study found that alcohol consumption among America’s teens is at or near record low levels and below pre-pandemic prevalence rates.
