Summer Learning is Not Just for Kids!
The Ask, Listen, Learn team hit the road this summer! Our journey began in Denver, Colorado on June 27th-29th where we got to meet with school nurses at the National Association of School Nurses annual conference. We shared our resources, connected with over 300 nurses from across the country, and gave out some cool swag. We enjoyed spending our weekend learning firsthand about how school nurses impact the student in their schools – it was also great to hear their feedback on how they’ve used Ask, Listen, Learn in their school communities!
After leaving the mile-high city, our team went to Boston, Massachusetts for the American School Counselor Association’s annual conference. We hosted a discussion group with some awesome school counselors who shared insight about issues their students are dealing with and feedback on what kinds of resources they need to do the wonderful work that they do. School counselors are integral in supporting students both academically AND emotionally, and hearing from them was truly insightful.
We love getting out into the community and connecting with those who have such a big impact on the lives of kids each day! Our next stop is Ogden, Utah to meet with educators at the Discovery Education Network Summer Institute – we can’t wait!
To our school nurses and school counselors, thank you for everything you do to help kids say “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to underage drinking. We’ve learned so much from you this summer and can’t wait for the back-to-school season – enjoy the rest of your break!
