Welcome Mallory Weggemann!
Today, the Ask, Listen, Learn team is happy to announce our final addition to the Superstar Team in 2011. Please welcome Mallory Weggemann, US Paralympic Champion!
Mallory has been a swimmer since age 7, but in 2008, a routine epidural for back pain changed her life when she was paralyzed from the waist down. Yet Mallory’s love for swimming did not falter. Three months later, Mallory was back in the pool, and she’s been breaking National and World Records ever since!
As a member of the US Paralympics National Team, Mallory is currently ranked first in six of the seven Paralympic events. She holds 34 American Records and 17 World Records, was named 2009 and 2010 Swimming World Magazine Female Disabled Swimmer of the Year, and was a 2011 ESPN ESPY winner for Best Female Athlete with a Disability.
Mallory always encourages her fans to “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” a quote from Gandhi. Check out her Superstar page with her inspirational video today to see the results of Mallory’s hard work!
