Thanks, Congressman Kildee!
Today Ask, Listen, Learn headed up north to in Standish, Michigan. Joining us in our trek to the upper peninsula was Congressman Dan Kildee, and we couldn’t have been happier!
To kick off our event, Representative Kildee talked about choices. Congressman Kildee said that it’s important to say no to underage drinking, but that it’s also important to stand up for something. And, that starts with making the right choices. He taught the middle schoolers that we make today affect us for the rest of our lives. And, this is exactly why it’s so important to make good healthy choices today so those good choices can carry us through on a positive path through life.
The Congressman went on to encourage the teachers, as well. He said he knew that Century Council had a great message and a strong reputation, and that he hoped the great teachers of Standish Sterling would help the students make a commitment and chose a healthy lifestyle with the Ask, Listen, Learn program. Congressman Kildee said that the teachers and staff at Standish Sterling are excellent role models for students. Then, Congressman Kildee shared with us that he exercises three times a week, and cheered the students on the game.
We really loved visiting the awesome students at Standish Middle School in Michigan and talking to kids about saying NO to underage drinking and YES to a healthy lifestyle. We’re so grateful to our positive role models and teachers at Standish Middle School. Thanks for having us, and keep making good choices!
