That’s a Wrap on Alcohol Responsibility Month 2018!

April is always one of the busiest months of the year—Alcohol Responsibility Month—and this past April was no exception. From running our first contest to working with Olympians, from teaming up with Scholastic to releasing new videos, we had an amazing month full of activities, milestones, and hard work. Just take a look at all of the things we did.

Our new infographic and report was released to give you a good view of why parents may hesitate before talking to their kids about underage drinking, and why you should all be comfortable with having conversations early and often about responsible alcohol consumption. The report was featured in numerous outlets including USA Today, ActiveKids.com, Clinical Psychology Today, Dear Annie, WGN in Chicago, and Kars4Kids.

For the first time ever, we conducted a contest to learn about how people use Ask, Listen, Learn in their classrooms. Winners will be announced shortly, but the grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to an education conference. The contest is closed, but we are always excited to hear about what you like best about our program!

We have a great relationship with Scholastic, and were so happy to share this new at home activity sheet with you. It includes 10 Ways to Say NO to underage drinking as well as some brain boosting family activities that may spark conversations at home!

Our new videos are a hit! Short, sweet, and taking social media by storm. If you have not watched them yet and are looking for ways to engage with your kids, watch them now!

Also in April, we continued to grow our community. You all know how valuable you are to us, and the more the merrier! We reached 10,000 followers on a Facebook and welcomed hundreds more of you into our community of educators and parents like you!

As we told you before, we had a great time teaming up with Summer Sanders and Attorneys General from across the United States to help parents talk to their kids. We pulled together this behind the scenes video just to give you a glimpse about some of the fun we had with such an amazing person as Summer Sanders. We all worked really hard that day, but she made it look so easy!

Summer Sanders isn’t the only Olympian that we rubbed elbows with in April. Through our partnership with Classroom Champions, we were able to participate in their Student Champion Chat on April 17! Kids from across the US and Canada gathered online to meet Olympians Alex Rigsby and Emily Nishikawa and Paralympic athlete Andrew Kurka to celebrate Healthy Living Month. It was a fantastic way for the athletes to talk to the kids about setting goals, working, hard, and saying NO to underage drinking. You can check out the entire chat video here!

And of course, our month would not be the same without our fabulous partner organizations and influencers. Check out some of these amazing blogs from Tech Savvy Mama, People I Want to Punch in the Throat, and Mom Generations.

Think we are all done? Not even close! We have so much coming up that we can’t wait to share with you! Stay tuned for even more!
