Kids often want to talk but may not know how to begin. Asking these five questions in a non-judgmental way can help start the conversation.

Even though school may be out for the summer, the teaching and learning continues, especially when it comes to lessons on responsibility. This summer assign yourself some homework to continue conversations with your kids about making responsible choices because when kids are empowered, they’re more likely to say “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to underage drinking.

The end of another school year is almost here! You’ve been having conversations with your children and modeling good choices to empower them to say “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to underage drinking.  While we have a lot to celebrate this school year, our work is not done yet!

Whether it’s a question your child has at a baseball game, observing a friend or relative at a BBQ, wondering why certain drinks are off-limits in the cooler at the beach or even something mentioned during a road trip, here are some lessons about alcohol and responsibility to incorporate into summer.

The urge to venture outside is growing stronger. Parents may feel more lenient with rules this summer, and kids may feel like they “deserve” a little more freedom. With this in mind, we want to remind you to engage in plenty of discussions with your kids as summer gets underway.

Summer is flying by, and hopefully you have already made memories that your family will remember for years to come.  With a few more weeks left before school starts, there is still time to spend more special moments together, make more memories, and have more conversations to last a lifetime.
